The most famous and beautiful temple in Macau has given the city its name. It is divided into four prayer pavilions connected by winding paths and moon gates, dedicated to deities: the Taoist goddess A-Ma (patroness of seafarers) and the Buddhist goddess Kun Iam (goddess of mercy).
